Meaning of Depression
Before the 20th century if you have said that "I am depressed ", they would have been treated like you an alien. Now a days this topic is most discussed and dangerous challenge for the society and people. It is taking the front seat in human life and driving him for death !!!
Before we start with our discussion , we should know the definition given by medical science expert. Depression is the constant feeling of sadness and loss of interest, which stops you doing your normal activities or a group of conditions associated with the elevation or lowering of person's mood.
In laymen language , you are not interested in anything and sadness or dullness is overriding your mind. You are stuck in a particular disturbing matter and you have stopped fueling your mind. You are lost in your own world instead of living in present world. A particular bad thing happened in your life and you are not able to come out from it.

- Depression will drain your energy, mood of mind, happiness and hope.
- Depression will put you in the backseat and you will loose self control for a long period of time, if you don't take the measures instantly.

Causes of depression

It can be physical, sexual or emotional. When you are not enough strong to handle physical or emotional abuse it can create a long lasting negative impact on you. Sexual abuse is something which is beyond your control and requires at most care and medical attention.
Social media abuses are also a cause for depression. Almost all the human beings are connected to one or the other social media platforms. If anything adverse happens to you, it will be very difficult to continue in that platform and maintaining the good social image. Loosing the social image is a fear and can cause to depression.
2. Conflict
If your parents has raised you in a environment where you never faced conflicts or quarrel in your life. Then you may not be able to handle it all of a sudden when you grown up. You will face conflicts and quarrel at all the stages of life, where ever you go.
You will loose your mind in thinking What I have done wrong ? Whether I am wrong ? Whether I have to apologize for it?. But if you are raised in rough environment then you will depress the person in front of you, instead of you !!
3.Death or Connection Loss
It is common for every one to feel the sadness on death of the person or any pets. But if you are not coming out from it then you become abnormal. Your mind is not ready to accept the loss of that person. It is not accepting the reality. You can also become depressed if you have to live without your family or friends for a longer period of time may be due to job posting or education.
The sudden shock may put our brain into standby mode and it will not move forward. Our mind will play the same event for repeated number of times like a damaged tape recorder playing the same song again and again.
4. Financial Loss, Reputation loss
You are consistently failing and loosing your money or not able to earn money can also depress you. When the family or loved one also withdraw their support from you, then the lonely feeling coupled with fear of future can easily put you in a bad position.
Anybody has made a derogatory remarks on you or filed a case on you for any reason, then there is a chance for depression. Because humans are social animals and they are very much afraid of their image in society.
5. Failing in exams
Now a days it is increasing day by day. Every parent want their child to be a rank holder. It will create a high pressure in students mind. If they fails in exam, they thinks that they are useless. If parents don't give them confidence they will definitely become depressed and takes a wrong decision.
There are many other abnormal reasons such as drugs consumption, alcohol consumption, seeing an accident on the road, fear of exams, etc.
Symptoms of Depression
- Not eating or eating too much or eating little bit.
- No energy. Not showing energy while working or talking with friends or with family.
- Feeling guilty above the normal level.
- Not completing the daily tasks effectively.
- Not interested in the thing in which they used to enjoy.
- Increased anxiety/ panic
- Not able to concentrate.
- Doing some horrible things such cutting hands, fingers etc
- Behaving like hopeless.
- Sleep problems. Oversleeping or not at all sleeping.
